Re: Pack Meeting this WEd

I have heard some reports that there is confusion over the meeting. There is a pack meeting TONIGHT at 6:30pm at the community center. Thanks.

Aloha Pack,

I believe this Wed pack meeting at the Kula Community Center will be led by James Boy Scout Leader for Troupe 100.

James will be doing a fire lighting demonstration with a boy scout approved converted metal trash can. Good survivor techniques. Reminds me of the MAD MAX  films about survival in the future. Of course that was before plastics.

He used this at the Scout O Rama.

Scout O Rama was fun. Thanks for those that covered in the afternoon. We were there till 6:30 eating and playing while the boys learned to change the battery in my truck.

Come Wed & Bring your Soldiers Angel's letter and goodie baggie.

Hi all - a few announcements, I'll try to keep it brief.

1) Velva will be coordinating our booth for the Scout-o-rama next Saturday (thanks!!!). I'm going to let her decide exactly how to run it, but everyone should plan on working a shift.

2) The meeting announcements from the last pack meeting contain all the relevant details for the Scout-o-rama.
http://www.mauipack14.org/home/announcements/meetingannouncements-23march2011
Our pack's official involvement will be during the daytime. If you want to stay for the Scout Show, that is at 7pm.

3) The Pinewood Derby and Raingutter Regatta check-ins start at 8am, and the parade is at 8:30. Since I assume Velva will be busy setting up our booth, we'll need a couple of adults to supervise the parade. There really is nothing to do, aside from get our flags there and chaperone the boys.

4) We will hold run a practice raingutter regatta Sunday (4/10) at 4pm.
-- We will meet at Kula Park (map here - below the fire station) on the lower parking lot.
-- Class B uniforms and close-toed shoes.
-- This will be an informal fun event. Although we will have races (and may declare a winner), we're not doing prizes and awards, like the Pinewood Derby. It is just something for fun to practice.
-- No wet paint, please!

5) Pack meeting 4/20 at 6:30pm. Send awards requests to your den leader and CC Stacy (sagemom1@yahoo.com) by Wed, 4/13. This is for awards that are ready to be picked up and presented, not partial progress toward badges.

Re: Scout O Rama

Hi all,

Unfortunately, I have to work all day tomorrow, and I'm unable to make it, but I have the flags. I can meet someone in Makawao or Pukalani in the AM to do the hand-off if that's ok.

Cell reception is bad at home - please call my land line 573-5631.

Thanks, David

Aloha,

We are outside this year! Have the boys bring their class B uniform. They will need Class A if they are going to be in the parade of flags or the activity at night. Which I have never been too.

Will have a 10X20 awning set up for shade and tables. Please bring any higher table height beach or fold up chairs to sit. Will have a extra table just for our pack to eat and spread out on.

Sunscreen & Water!

Michael C. can you bring your tables & chairs this afternoon around 5?

Scout O rama

Aloha,

I am setting up the basketball game and still have prize’s.

Need a parent volunteer or two from 10:30 to 1:30 to man the booth for Soldiers Angels and run the basketball game.

Please have your boys do a card to our soldier. Siblings can also help. We will be packing our box for shipment so please read over the items requested and bring a baggie of goodies or some mac & cheese. I am getting the basketball & pump. Want the bays to sign it this weekend.

Thank You,

Velva

RE: announcements

We will have two basket ball arcade machines. Boys can shoot hoops and win a small prize…any ideas besides candy? There are LOTS of boys so it needs to be something small. Something to do with Easter?

Booth and table will be about Soldiers Angels to get the word out.
